British Columbia

Why travel across the continent just to enjoy the outdoors? Because there’s nothing quite like British Columbia. Actually, the province calls itself Super, Natural British Columbia – and it lives up to its name. The land of rugged coastline, towering trees, and ancient totem poles offers incredible saltwater and freshwater fishing, plus wilderness hunting or adventure opportunities. Cast a fly for trout in mountain streams, head down river for some of the best salmon fishing anywhere, or set out on the Pacific for deep-sea fishing or a relaxing day of whale watching. B.C. is an adventurer’s paradise!

British Columbia is famous for its spectacular mountains and beautiful coastal scenery, which are well represented in the many provincial and federal parks, including Yoho, Kootenay, Glacier, and Pacific Rim national parks. Parts of the Queen Charlotte Islands have been designated a National Park reserve. Recently the provincial government set aside a large area in northwestern British Columbia as the Tatshenshini-Alsek wilderness. With adjacent Kluane National Park and Reserve in Yukon Territory and Alaska's Wrangell-Saint Elias and Glacier Bay national parks, this new area forms a continuous, spectacular, undisturbed wilderness totaling 90,000 sq km (35,000 sq mi) in three political jurisdictions.
